Do you have to get your Acura serviced at a dealership?
There are many great reasons to bring your car to our service center here at Radley Acura, but we know it’s not always convenient to stop by. For this reason, you might be wondering if you have to get your Acura serviced at a dealership. Naturally, it’s recommended simply because our technicians are factory-trained to work on your luxury vehicle. We also use only OEM parts and recommended fluids. However, you aren’t required by the manufacturer to take your model to a certified dealership. Here’s what you need to know.
Keep your receipts
Taking your vehicle to a non-certified dealer will not void your new car warranty. You will need to save your receipts from services and have the service technician fill out the Maintenance Record. Full details for what to do if you bring your vehicle elsewhere can be found in your warranty booklet.
It’s important to keep up with scheduled maintenance for obvious reasons. The manufacturer recommendations are there to ensure you get the most mileage out of your vehicle. When you let a service pass, you cause unnecessary early wear on your vehicle. Things can have something of a snowball effect, as when one thing breaks, it usually impacts other parts over time. Your vehicle also has the Maintenance Minder system that helps keep track of oil change needs based on your actual driving style, plus pairs other required services with necessary oil changes to save you from making multiple appointments.
When you take your vehicle to an Acura dealer for your services, our computer automatically tracks all the repairs and maintenance that have been performed. So you have a carefree experience when it comes to keeping records.
