St. Patrick’s Day 2017 Events and Activities

For many in the area, St. Patrick’s Day would not be complete without checking out the annual parade. Since the holiday falls on a Friday this year, the parade will take place on March 12 at 12 p.m. It will head down Constitution Avenue from 7th Street to 17th Street. If you’re looking for a good seat, the grandstands are between 15th Street and 16th Street.

Embassy Tour

Join DC by Foot for the Embassy Row Tour, which includes the Embassy of Ireland. You’ll learn about the people and history of the area. Reservations are required, so you’ll want to make sure you find a time that works for you and reserve your spot well ahead of time.

Celtic Concert

If you enjoy music, especially Celtic music and dancing, then Danú: St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is for you. It takes place at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on March 17, 2017 at 8 p.m. Just make sure that you get your ticket, or tickets for the whole family.

Discovery Theater: All Ireland!

Lastly, here is something for the kids. Presented by the Smithsonian Discovery Theater, this event will allow everyone to experience a little piece of Ireland through dancing, singing and more. It is recommended for children age 5 – 10 and takes place March 17 from 10:15 am to 11 a.m.
